I am hoping that an experienced cat person will be able to help with my dilema.
8 doors up from me is an 11 month old male called Alfie. He is stunning and a really lovely chappie.
Alfie has fallen in love with my babycakes Scooter, and they are often seen bowling about together and having fun. He is often in my garden and even Vinnie, the grumpy chap, does not seem to mind Alfie hanging about and sunbathing etc!
Sunday, Alfie worked out how to get into my flat via the catflap.
Now, Alfie thinks that he lives with me and my boys.
I called his owners who came and got him from my flat, were very sorry about Alfie being so forward etc.
2 hours later Alfie is back in my flat and making himself right at home! I gently nudged him back out the catflap and he hung about for most of the evening trying to get in at every opportunity.
Last night, as every night, I locked my boys in at 11.30 and Alfie sat outside the catflap calling for almost an hour, with Scooter inside my flat calling too.
7am this morning, Alfie is sitting outside in the sun waiting for Scooter again!
I am at a loss as my cats have never ever let another cat into their home before, but they both appear to be quite taken with Alfie.
Can anyone help with with any advice as I just assumed that Vinnie especially would prevent any other cats from coming in.
Any ideas of how I can put pay to Alfie coming in without upsetting my 2 boys? I can't keep calling his owners everyday to collect him as he just finds his way back as he is so close to us!!!!
I cannot have a magnetic cat flap as my boys loose collars every 14 days or so, so it will be too expensive for me to have at the moment!!!
I would appreciate any advice that anyone can offer!
passiveaggressive

Does he go home to his owner's house at all? And do they seem bothered if he doesn't? Maybe you could make gentle enquiries about "adopting" him from them. Failing that, I would just let him come and go as he pleases but not feed him.
