Winter Cat Sleepathon Training Going Well….

by KACKERS @ Wednesday, 19. Dec, 2007 - 12:55:12

Well, Vinnie seems to be doing very well this year on his winter sleepathon training.

So far, he is managing to sleep about 18 hours out of every 24.

This gives him enough time to get some dinner and breakfast, quick once round the neighbourhood and a couple of toilets stops.

He is a funny old chap, as he comes across as being so aloof, but when I am home, he spends all day close or near to me. He has been known to follow me in between rooms and then sleep as close to me as possible.

I like to think that it is because he loves me so much but I suspect it is something to do with the cold.

Scooter, well, he is just plain weird at the moment and is involved with heavy sleepathon practise and a serious drinking problem. He is just thirsty all the time and last night he was fast asleep and “appeared” to be drinking in his sleep.

I am keeping a close eye on him, which is easy to do when he is asleep!!

Tonight I have a yearly review at the vets about Vinnie and I am feeling abit nervous. i will update tomorrow on his news and future plans!

I Am Sooooooo Rubbish...

by KACKERS @ Thursday, 29. Nov, 2007 - 16:46:19

at updating this at the moment.

I have been totally obsessed with my draughty flat.

After 3 weeks of total obsession and constantly walking round the flat sniffing and looking for draughts, I have discovered there is no draught.

I had put carpet down in the bedroom and the lounge.

I appeared to have a draught form somewhere but just could not trace it. After wise advice, I placed a couple of balloons round the flat and they stayed as still as you can imagine.

So then I asked my wise man at work and it was so obvious what the problem was once I started to talk it through.

My hallway had no carpet and it was not a draught causing my unhappiness, it was just the cold coming up through the floorboards, oh, and a gap round my front door.

Tonight I intend to go home, flop on the sofa, switch the telly on and soak up the heat, as last night I laid some hand me down left over carpet in my hallway. (It now looks like astro turf down my hallway!)

It will be the first night in the last fortnight that I will be going home and not causing the problem.

As a result of my obsession, I have been doing little else with my life!!!!!

I am now going to sit at home in my bikini and do some work on my website and make more of an effort to keep this up to date.

My silly boys are both in fine fettle and bringing me much joy, even though my kitchen seems to be forever covered in wet footprints!

Sorry for being so useless, I have slapped myself and told myself off in a stern manner.

My life is transformed by cardboard.....!!!!!!!

by KACKERS @ Friday, 23. Nov, 2007 - 10:48:59

Last night I took up my bedroom carpet and laid down some thick cardboard, put my carpet back down and all the furniture back in.

Within 2 hours my flat went from chilly and draughty to a tropical island!!!!

I had to turn my heating back down again.

I am so happy that I may just stay in all weekend now and walk round in a bikini!!!!!!

After being completely obsessed for the last 2 weeks with finding the source of the coldness in my bedroom, I just look forward to having a restful weekend!

Now, I can relax and continue as normal!

Am hoping to work on the website revamp this weekned so may have the first basic pages up next week!!!

Now control yourselves and have a good weekend.

Keep warm and keep smiling.

Keeping It Warm......

by KACKERS @ Friday, 16. Nov, 2007 - 17:40:02

Well, things have exploded at work this week and I have barely had time to catch my breathe!

This weekend I am on a mission to secure my flat from the cold and nay draughts that are lurking.

I have a lovely curtain track and some curtains for my bay window in my lounge, I am making 3 draught excluders against my 3 doors and making my own double glazing on my patio doors!!!!

Sometimes I make myself dizzy with the excitement of my life, and I suspect that you can barely contain yourselves eh?

I am a bit worried that I will get so cosy and snuggly that I may leave the flat, only to go to work!!!!

It has got so cold so quickly that my silly cats have “suddenly” decided to become indoor cats. They have almost stopped going out as it is too chilly for them.

I would not mind but they both have great big fur coats on, unlike me!!!

Have a great weekend, wrap up warm and keep smiling. I will, and I know this is not a great thing to admit, be watching I am a Celebrity (I just can’t help myself, it is car crash TV and I love it!!!) and Strictly Come dancing.

Take care!

WOW - What A Blinding Night......

by KACKERS @ Thursday, 08. Nov, 2007 - 16:32:00

Groove Armada were fantastic.

The place was jam packed and they rocked, we rocked, Southend rocked!!!

I am currently suffering with a bad back and was gutted as I could not dance myself silly, but I still had a great night.

It was truly amazing and worth every penny!

I was surprised as I did not really expect to enjoy them as much as I did!

I would go and see them again, next time making sure that I could shake my stuff throughout!!!

Aside from that it has been a right pig of a week, but it is nearly the weekend, so it can only get better!

I intend to do some work on the website, and maybe, just maybe, I will have the start of it up by next week!

As if that was not enough excitement, I also have a new curtain rail to "fit" up, and some general tweaking in the flat. I am also measuring to see if I can get some more curtains to go over my Venetian blinds, just for the winter months.

I heard that the weather should be pretty grim, but on the local news site, it looks fine! I hope it is sunny as the sun will be a rare sight soon!

Groove Armada.....

by KACKERS @ Wednesday, 07. Nov, 2007 - 17:17:14

Tonight, I mainly be seeing them live in Southend.

I am not sure what to expect, but I hope that it is good!

I will try and report tomorrow.

Website revival going well.... hope to have part of ready to unleash next week!

Memories Re-captured....

by KACKERS @ Friday, 02. Nov, 2007 - 10:23:23

I have a website but when I moved to Essex and started my new life, I kind of let things slip and then removed most of the content.

I never really took it back up and was not that bothered about it all.

3 weeks ago, I had a problem with my 11 year old laptop, and all my photo’s from my site seemed to “disappear”. I was gutted as a lot of them were from VW shows and weekends that I have been on over the last 8 years and photo’s of work nights out from previous jobs.

After contacting my hosting company and them being really helpful I have managed to gain assess back into my domain name and get all my precious photos back!!!

I am just so excited and have not stopped smiling since.

This has inspired me and this weekend I am going to work on getting another website together! It will just be about me, the boys, the fish and my beloved van!

I do not have a phone line at home, but if I either come in early or stay late, I can FTP via work!

I am very happy today and will keep you informed on progress!!! Whilst I cannot change this template to match my plans for the site, I may well change the colours on here to at least match in a bit!

I can’t wait for Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, as I intend to have a quiet weekend indoors with the boys, staying away from the fireworks.

Have a lovely weekend people.

Well, On My Birthday.....

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 30. Oct, 2007 - 17:21:29

I went out and had a fantastic meal. It was exquisite and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and every mouthful of food!!!

Then, in a moment of weakness, I went clubbing with some of the younger folk at work.

I would not mind, but I was a touch squiffy, but not that bad. Sometimes I am just so easily led!!!! Anyway, it seemed like a good idea at the time, so off I went!

I danced, was involved in dance offs with work colleges, and generally kept moving right through until the end of the night, 2am.

I got home, feeling good, had some toast and watched some telly before slipping off to bed.

Friday morning, I woke up feeling remarkably well and rested and looked forward to working my way through my list of things to do, I was in the shower and nothing could stop me.

Well, I say nothing, but after my shower and slow leisurely cooked breakfast and a bit more random telly watching, I realized that my back ached a bit, and that if I walked down the hallway a bit sharpish, that my hip was kind of twinging.

By about 1 I had decided that I ached too much and was really too creaky and tool old to walk and do my errands!!!!

By 2pm, I had enlisted the help of my quilt, encouraged the cats to curl up, and the 3 of us settled down to some classic Miss Marple, well, we stayed awake for the first 10 minutes and then wafted off!

So, whilst I had a great birthday, I did feel my age and the after effects of dancing and clubbing till 2am, and to be honest, the aching hip and back were far worse than the state of my head!!!

Thanks for your kind wishes, it was a good one and next year is the big 40, so I will have to take 3 or 4 days off to recover if this year is anything to go by!!!!

It's My Birthday!!!!

by KACKERS @ Thursday, 25. Oct, 2007 - 08:59:31

I have survived to celebrate another year.... 39 years old!!!

I can still remember being 19 and been incapable of imaging even being this old!!!

As luck would have it, we are going on a works night out to celebrate our MD's 10 years with the company, and we are going to a very exclusive restaurant!!!!

How handy is that?

I have booked tomorrow off, not to cope with a hangover, but to have a lovely day of nothingness, to go to the bank and spend my some money that my money sent me by my mother, which was a complete surprise as I had my presents when she came up on Saturday!

Have a good time, and catch up next week!

Don't forget to put your clocks back!

Quick Catch Up!

by KACKERS @ Monday, 22. Oct, 2007 - 08:44:49

Well, Fake That on Thursday night was, without any doubt, one of the funniest nights out that I have ever had!

They did not look or really sound like the band, but put on a great show and I laughed all night! I will have to come back and tell you more of that in the week!

Saturday I had a lovely day as my mother came up to see me. The last time she came up was 10 days after I had moved into my flat.

I had such a lovely day with her as we went shopping whilst her husband kept the boys company in the flat and she treated me to fish and chips before she left!!!

It was lovely to see her and nice that she saw my flat after almost a year of living there. I really did have a great time and it was so nice to see her and hear all her news!

Next time I will go down to see here again.

I am in agony though at the moment as I am suffering with a pain very similar to the whiplash that I suffered 2 years ago in a car accident.

I have no idea what I did to start it off, but I have been unable to sleep or really move much for the last 3 days!

I am hoping that I can relax my back and shoulders abit more today so that it can start to ease up. Even breathing is hurting at the moment and I can't lift anything heavier than a cup of tea without being in pain! I look rather stiff and rather silly so tonight it will be another soak in the bath and a hot water bottle all night to try and free me up!

Hope you are all well and if you had beautiful sun, I hope that you made the, most of it!

Fake That

by KACKERS @ Wednesday, 17. Oct, 2007 - 13:26:10

Tomorrow I mainly be going to see Fake That.

I have saved and am getting a taxi there and back.

This will help me through myself whole hearted into the experience, with the help of a few large vodka's.

I am going with a few girls from work and their friends.

I will be the oldest by at least 7 years.

I just don't care.

I am soooo excited!

Kackers BiOrb – Now Fully Stocked!

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 16. Oct, 2007 - 08:53:48

Well, here is a brief story of me setting up my BiOrb, ending with photos of my fully stocked 30 litre wonder!

It all started with JennyBio posting some photos of her BiOrbs on a VW forum.

16th July 2007 – I took delivery on my BiOrb and set it all up though I did not have a heater!

20th July – the heater arrived and I set that up and left to settle down for 3 days before I went to get my first fish.

29th July – I bought my first 2 fish, Stan and Ollie, two zebra danio’s.

10th August – after waiting to peak, and that not really happening, I took the plunge and added Maz and Mauld, two black widows.

16th September – I went and threw all caution to the wind and bought a BiOrb Intelligent LED light. This has transformed my fish watching beyond belief!!!

13th October – I added another 2 black widows as my original 2 seemed abit lost in the BiOrb, called Dave and Jaz.

16th October – I added 3 sunset platy, which are called Jen, Jenny and Orange!

I have now completed my mission to set up my BiOrb in time for the long nights in during winter.

I am very surprised at how much I do enjoy watching the fish and how I already know how they behave etc. It is very peacefull and chilled and now I can just leave things to settle with weekly 10% changes.

At the end of October I will be attempting my first sponge and carbon pellet change! I am nervous but will seek helpful hints for that later!

Here are some photos that I took over the weekend. If you look hard you can see my 2 zebra danio, 4 black widow and 3 sunset platy.

Thanks to all of you for all your help and support over the last few months. You all made it a lot easier and thanks for making it so friendly that I am never afraid to ask any question!!!

Special thanks to JennyBio, the guardian angel of my fish!

Vinnie Is Not Happy With His Diet!!!

I Love Ross Noble.....

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 09. Oct, 2007 - 09:55:25

and last night I got the chance to see him, yet again!!!

I went to The Cliffs in Southend with my 2 lovely and wonderful mates.

Ross was on top form and by the time that we left, my face was really hurting from laughing so hard for the best part of 3 odd hours.

I have now seen him a fair few times, and never is it the same.

He is so talented and very under-rated, in my opinion.

It was just what I needed as we have changed all our computer systems at work and method of working.

To say that it has been a stressful time of late would be understating it!!!!

I hope that normal daily service will resume soon!

Either that or I will melt away in my paperless pod.......

Good Loving In Exchange For Fish.....

by KACKERS @ Monday, 01. Oct, 2007 - 12:37:31

As readers know, my Vinnie has a crystals in the bladder thing going on. This requires him to be a very strict diet of dried biscuits. On the whole, this diet is proving to be working, although I know have some weight issues with Vinnie.

It seems that you can’t have it all, he is healthy, but now overweight, and being overweight increases the chances of crystals. Round and round it all goes!

So, now that his antibiotics have finished, and as soon as I can get some digital scales, the diet of Big Fella Vinnie will commence.

Scooter on the other hand, has biscuits for breakfast and a mixture of wet and biscuits for dinner. It works well and he is healthy and at a good weight.

So, anyway…… last night I decided to treat them both with a small piece of coley each. I get them in packs of 4 and they get one each once a month.

On went the microwave, and as if by magic, the world breaking gold medallist cats for getting from the lounge to the kitchen appeared. From their deep slumber they realised that I was not cooking for me, but fish for them. How could they know that without seeing what I was doing?

The plastic box went round, the fish smells came out and my 2 silly black sausages sat there, almost in a trance, watching it all happen. As soon as the dinger went off, all hell broke loose. Cats wrapped round my feet, curling round my ankles, meowing in the loudest fashion, and creating an impossible task to get past them to put the fish in their dishes.

As we all waited for the fish to cool off, my 2 cats really did, for those 3 brief minutes, become the most loving creatures on this planet. Face rubbing, chirping, purring and generally full on loving. Lots of sweet nothings and big eyes staring lovingly at me.

The fish went down, the sound of cat eating echoed round the kitchen.

At the same time, they both cleared their bowls, and it looked as if there had never been any fish placed in there.

They looked up to me and meowed again, somewhat pitifully, begging for more fish.

I bent down and said “there is no more boys”.

I never saw them again for almost 3 hours. Talk about fickle!!!!

Honestly, for the love of fish.......!!!!

Update On Vinnie

by KACKERS @ Friday, 28. Sep, 2007 - 13:13:19

Well, Vinnie is now in fine fettle.

He is very playful and appears to have a second wind on with life!

I won't go into great details about his eye, as it has been very traumatic for me and him, but all is going well.

He has to suffer the pain of antibiotics until Monday evening, but I am confident that all will be well from then onwards!

I am very relieved as it has been horrid to watch him being driven mad with this infection.

I have also had to lay the law down as far as fighting in the home goes. Every time they look or make moves to attack each other, I step in, have a few stern words, make some scary noises and the situations resolves immediately.

I am please also to report that they only spent one night apart, they are now both sleeping together with me again, which is a great relief.

I find that when they fall out, feeding them treats alongside each other (treats meaning only ham or small pieces of fish) helps the situation.

I am planning a nice quiet weekend this week. I am thinking of a bottle of wine, big fluffy warm clothes and lots of unnecessary telly!!!!

Hope you have fun, whatever you are up too.

It’s All About Vinnie

by KACKERS @ Monday, 24. Sep, 2007 - 10:44:04

Well, this weekend has certainly been centred around Vinnie.

On Friday night he kept pressing his face against me, and kept rubbing one side of his face against everything he could find.

Saturday morning, we are down the vets first thing as his itchy face and it turns out that he has been in some sort of fight and had a cut on his lower eye lid.

I reckon it was Scooter than did it as they have been like a pair of WWF wrestlers on a sponsored fight all weekend.

We left armed with antibiotics and went off home.

Yesterday I looked at his eye again and was not happy.

This morning we were waiting outside waiting for the vets to open.

The soft lump under his eye is now the size of a cherry and gone rock hard, and his fur has come out around the area in question.

They took a good look at him, referred him to the other vet and then put a needle in and tried to draw something out.

The lump was hard with no gunk in it, so that is a really goods sign as an abscess would be soft and the area would leak like mad.

So, after a short delay, off home we went again to drop him back to the safety of the flat, and I just have to keep a watch on things and if I am not happy by Wednesday, then I shall have to take him back on Thursday as the tablets should have kicked in by then.

He seems ok in himself, and is eating and darting about so I think that it is worrying me more than him!!!

Had a mad weekend…. Hope to update on that tomorrow as bit mad here today!

How was your weekend?

BiOrb Update.....

by KACKERS @ Friday, 21. Sep, 2007 - 10:23:52

It has been a busy time for my fish recently, and I am surprised that they are still alive with all the excitement that has been going on!

They have been treated a new light, which has enhanced their lives no end and increased my all day and all night viewing pleasure!

I have also gone a step further and changed the huge bulky heater that I had and swapped it for the official BiOrb heater.

Now that has made a real difference as it has created loads more room in the tank and now I have a clear view of what is going on the whole time! Not that much ever really happens, but I like to be prepared!!!

The new heater also means that my fish can now swim round in a full circle without interruption, which must be better for them.

It is non stop excitement really for my four finned friends!!! Now, I shall let things settle again before another 2 join the gang!!!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, I have friends over for dinner on Saturday, so I am looking forward to cooking and having them round.

Here is another photo of the BiOrb in moonlight mode.

BiOrb By Moonlight!

by KACKERS @ Monday, 17. Sep, 2007 - 14:44:16

Well, as promised, I did some fiddling about, I tried my best to get some photos of the BiOrb in the basking moonlight mode with the iLight!

I currently have the light set u on the standard eight-hour daylight mode.

I am sure that my fish have grown since I got the light, or maybe it is just that I can see the fish now!!!!

I have gone abit mad as I have now ordered the BiOrb tropical heater pack! I currently have a massive water heater that I have to keep turning off to do water changes and it is just so big that I decided to treat the fish and I!!

I am going to go mad and get two more on Saturday!

Water Readings

Now I Don't Normally Tease....

by KACKERS @ Friday, 14. Sep, 2007 - 11:56:19

but I did not get round to taking any photo's of the fantastic new light in my Biorb.

Now I know that for some of you, this will be devastated by this news, and you will feel robbed and cheated by me, and for that I am sorry.

I just felt so rough and so tired that I spent the whole evening eating ice cream whilst wrapped up in blankets!!!

It was just what I needed though as I do feel alot better today. I feel as though the cold is chucking me now and on it's way out! Never in my life have I been so happy to be chucked!!!

I had a funny old morning as Scooter was making a right commotion by the cat flap about 7am. I ignored him as he sometimes has mad moments when he rushes in and out like a lunatic for no real reason.

Suddenly, Vinnie, the king of lie ins, leapt up and joined in with the commotion by the cat flap, so I was forced to get out of the shower to see what was occurring. As I approached the flap, I saw the boys attempting to drag a huge pigeon in!!!

They had not a hope in hell chance of succeeding, so after much faffing about they decided to guard the pigeon outside and wait for me to solve the problem. Scooter wandered off bored, and Vinnie stared at the pigeon whilst I went to find the backdoor keys.

When I came back, I really wished that I had my camera ready as Vinnie was sitting by the pigeon with feathers all over him, poking out from the corner of his mouth, on the top of his head and all over his face!

He just looked at me as if to say “What?“

I did laugh and that put me in a much better mood today as I keep tittering thinking about Vinnie!!!!

Have a good weekend people. I am off to wedding tomorrow and then a flat cleaning and lazy day Sunday if the weather is bad, but a busy Sunday cleaning the van if the weather is good!

Take care and be happy.

I Am SOOOOOOOOOO Grumpy...

by KACKERS @ Thursday, 13. Sep, 2007 - 13:44:13

as I have raging face ache on my left side, and obvious evidence suggests that my cold has turned into an infection of the left side.

My cheek bone is throbbing.

My eye is throbbing.

My head hurts.

If I move my head round, bend down or make any sudden movement I feel as sick as a dog.

My upper and lower teeth hurt on the left side.

I keep having a crispy nostril on the left side.

Luckily, my Biorb light arrived last night so I have the excitement of getting home and taking some photo's to post up tomorrow.

I just hope that I manage to get a decents nights sleep as last night was a nightmare, red hot, freezing cold, body hurting and face throbbing!

I really am such a drama queen eh?!!!

I just really hate feeling under the weather.

Still, it could be much worse and I could still be waiting for my light!!!!

Thanks for listening....

The Grumpy Drama Queen.

p.s and another bloody thing, Woolworths have already got Xmas decorations on show.

I Am Having A Brain Meltdown.....

by KACKERS @ Wednesday, 12. Sep, 2007 - 13:24:04

I am testing a new system at work.

As with almost every company you can ever work for, it is disorganised chaos.

I have to say that I am finding it rather tedious and want to stop it now, but that is not possible as I have only just started.

To cheer myself up, the accounts man went to the bank which is right near a bakery, so I ordered a hot cheese slice.

It just seemed rude not too as he was going into the bakers anyway.

I am in that sort of mood today!

I miss being at home with my boys just lazing the days away.

On the way home tonight I may go really mad and buy a lottery ticket. If I win, then I will be able to stay at home through the winter and keep an eye on the boys whilst they sleep through the cold weather!

I feel restless, I feel naughty, I feel like I need to throw myself into a project but I am not sure what yet.

You would think that the fish and the boys would be enough excitement really wouldn't you?!!!!!

Look Out, It’s Maz and Maud!!

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 11. Sep, 2007 - 08:45:32

Well, on Saturday 8th September I threw all caution to the wind and bought two black widows named Maz and Maud.

The main reason for buying them was because after 6 weeks, my 30 litre Biorb has still not cycled with the two zebra danio, Stan and Ollie.

I have added these two to try and move things along as I have decided to add another two black widows in the next month. After that, I am thinking that I will add another 4 fish and that will be it.

2 zebra danio, 4 black widow and 4 undecided will then become the occupants of Kackers Biorb!!! Any suggestions on the 4 undecided would be gratefully received!!

So here are the two black widows in their bag before the big release!!!

MUCH EXCITEMENT as I have ordered my Biorb Intelligent LED light so that could be here by mid week. I am excited as I will look forward to taking lots more photo’s and night time fish watching!!!

Much Excitement..

by KACKERS @ Friday, 07. Sep, 2007 - 14:46:43

I have thrown all caution to the wind and have just ordered this bad boy light for my Biorb tank!!!

I am also hoping to get 2 more fish tomorrow....... to bring my total up to four.

This is due to my tank still not completing it's cycle after 7 weeks with 2 fish in.

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am!!!!

It all happens here!!!!

My Lovely Week Off!!

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 04. Sep, 2007 - 13:32:42

Well, my week off does actually sound quite boring when written down, but it was a great time off for me, getting loads of jobs done, having a good tidy and shuffle around, and managing to fit in some on the sofa with the boys watching telly time!!

I went to my good friends for a bar b q the first Saturday that I was off, and it was all fish based. I had sardines and I loved them! I have only ever had them with sauces, but freshly caught with a quick go on a griddle is certainly the way forward!!!

I had a friend come over on Bank Holiday Monday and we hit the vodka and watched loads of telly whilst putting the world to rights.

Then I had a fantastic week of having a real spring clean in the flat, finally folding down 5 large cardboard boxes and smashing the packaging up, sorting out my hallway storage and have a major clean u of my bedroom. It feels so much better and I am sure that I am sleeping better now the room is no longer cluttered and disorganised!

My mum sent me an early birthday cheque and I bought myself a microwave in a sale so I emptied all my kitchen cupboards into the middle of the room and had a good old sort out and a new arrangement is in place!

For the first three days after the arrival of the microwave I lived on scrambled eggs and jacket potatoes! I also made loads of fresh cooked meals which I have now frozen, cauliflower cheeses, pasta sauces and a vegetable casserole! I divided the all up into meal size containers as now I can heat them in the microwave! Honestly, I am so excited.

I have been in my flat since Xmas Eve, and I have managed to keep on to of running the flat, the 2 cats and keeping a van and car on the road, so I guess that I now know that I will be staying here as long as I can imagine!

It was a good week, though to some it may sound too boring for words! I was fine though as I had no money and feel much happier with the flat after the big cleaning frenzy!

I have also decided to sell my van and get a newer model next year. That is a huge decision for me, but I know it will make sense.

Have to get on and catch up at work, so behave and welcome back!

Finally...... Some Time Out.....

by KACKERS @ Thursday, 23. Aug, 2007 - 13:41:43

Well, I am beside myself with excitement.

I finish work tomorrow and will not be returning again until Tuesday 4th September.

How jolly exciting.

It is my first “longer than a long weekend” break of this year.

It is my longest ever chunk of time off in the last 2 and a half years that I have worked here.

I am so excited.

What am I going to do with my time?

Well, I won’t be on the net and surfing as I have no landline at home, I will not be spending any money as I am so skint that it is not even funny.

I will be cleaning and polishing my camper van as I am selling him to upgrade to a newer and better model.

I will also be sorting and have a huge life laundry of things that I no longer need to live with.

My parting thought, and something that will undoubtedly intrigue me during my week off, is……

You know when you see old people, manly ladies, with dogs in trolleys? You know the sort, sometimes a wicker trolley and sometimes it can be a nice tartan trolley. Well, what do they fill the trolleys up with so that the dog sits high enough to see the world and not fall to the bottom of the basket?

They must have stuff in the trolley to keep the dog high up, so what the blazes do they put their shopping? Or do they only ever shop with the trolley whilst the dog is elsewhere?

If you know an old person with a dog in the trolley, do us a favour and lift the dog out and tell me what it is laying/sitting on will you?

Take care and enjoy the heat wave that we are destined to have over the Bank Holiday.

Will catch up after my break.

p.s fish are fine, they are still going strong and Scooter is still transfixed by them and Vinnie is still totally blasé about them.

p.p.s I have a USB memory stick thing now so I can write entries at home, and bring them in for a simple upload before I start work or in my lunch. Hopefully, or not so depending on how you feel about me, this will make my posting a little more regular!

Time Slips Past........

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 14. Aug, 2007 - 13:45:27

Goodness me, time really does escape me sometimes!!!

Well, just time for a quick update a massive thanks to GLW. take a look at the comments on my last post and you will see a black cat photo. Bless. Yours and my two could all be related!!!

Fish and cats are all doing well, though not impressed with the ever changing weather!!!! One minute they are having ice cubes, next minute crying by the back door as they don’t want to get their feet wet!!!!

Bad times - my lovely 1974 VW camper van was the victim of some mindless vandals last week. They have keyed and scratched the windows and panels down one side.

Some of the damage has been polished out, but some just cannot be done. Gutted.

Good times - it has forced me into making a decision and after owning Duncan for 5 years, I have decided to sell him and get myself a VW T25 van.

Now all I need is good weather so that I can crack on with the mammoth clean up!!!!

It will be a big bold move for me, but as my life has changed so much this year, I feel that the final touches will be a new van for my new lifestyle!!!

I am also hoping to spend a lot more time away at VW festivals/shows next year, and the improved T25 will suit my needs and provide me with an additional feeling of safety now that I am on my own again.

That’s all for now. Good news is that I have got my laptop at home working though I do not have a phone line!!!

It does mean though that I can write my updates at home and just bring them in and load!!!!

I am hoping then to become abit more regular in keeping you up to date with my exciting life!!!

I bet you will be unable to contain yourself now eh???!!!! Just try and calm yourself will you?!!!!

When The Cats Meet The Fish!

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 31. Jul, 2007 - 09:05:29

So, I had let my fish free in the tank, and the first cat to notice the additions to the family was Scooter. I love taking photo’s and the cats make such good subjects!!!

Just as I was packing the camera away, Scooter came in and just before the batteries died, I managed to get the following photos!

Hope you enjoy…..

As Scooter gets ready for a nap, he notices movement from the corner of his eye
s1

He stands up, turns round, and peers really intensely
s2

He drops to the floor to get closer
s3

Hello, there is something moving for sure!
s4

I can see them over here, I can see them!
s5

There they are, not what are they?
s6

I am watching you both!
s7

Where have you gone now? I won’t give up looking!
s8

When Vinnie arrived on the chair for his nap, you would never have known the fish had arrived!
