My Rescued Cat is Missing In Action....

by KACKERS @ Wednesday, 31. May, 2006 - 13:40:47

There I was, all proud telling everyone of the new arrival Vinnie.

I took on board all the info that people gave me yesterday, had a plan and last night he slept at the end of the bed with us all night.

We did some serious bonding and he seemed chilled and relaxed.

At 5am he was bothering me so I took him to the litter tray and left him there.

At 6.30am the special man went to make tea and get sorted for work, and the cat flap was smashed and Vinnie has gone.

I am gutted as he has only been at ours since 8pm on Monday and I am all upset that he won't know where he is and may never come back.

The only positive thought that I have is that he was wearing a nice new shiny red collar and name tag.

A New Arrival......

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 30. May, 2006 - 13:32:19

Well, last night I found myself becoming mother to another cat!

He is 3 years old, looks my Scooter's twin and is about a stone heavier than Scooter!

They are exactly one year apart in age, Scooter being the baby at 2 years old.

Vinnie (new guy under the table) has not really stopped grumbling so I have left them both locked in the flat today. Scooter has his room to chill in and Vinnie has his.

So if anyone can help... my question is.....

How long should I keep Vinnie in for? His is an outdoor cat and is going mad already to escape......

It was all abit of a panic getting him yesterday and I can find loads of info on the net except this sort of advice!!!

Any tips would be gratefully accepted with getting these two chaps happy and feeling safe at home and in the garden!

Busy Little Bee I Am......

by KACKERS @ Friday, 26. May, 2006 - 12:02:41

Well, it has been a really busy week for me.

Work has just gone mad beyond any other previous madness and I have barely had time to catch my breath for the best part of this week.

However, today is a slightly different matter! I have had time to do some real cleaning up and sorting, and if I am lucky, I may be able to have a chilled 40 minutes or so later.

That is handy as I feel the need to shop.

I don’t know what for… but honestly, does that really matter?

The man and I got a digital box last night so we now have a selection of channels to search through! It is a great thing but there seems to be big problems when the rain comes. Luckily for me I have worked out how to switch easily between digital and not analogue.

I tested the whole thing by watching Price Drop TV and I got myself a fab Russell Hobbs 3 tier steamer for £13 plus £8 postage. That is such a good price and I only had to ring a number to make it so!!!

So, we have a long trek up to Sheffield way for a wedding reception on Saturday and then I suspect that the rest of the weekend will be digital telly, gardening and spending time with the mad cat.

Hope you enjoy the Bank Holiday… let us hope the weather cheers up sooner rather than later.

Go Euro Go.... What The Big Brothering Is Going On?

by KACKERS @ Friday, 19. May, 2006 - 13:58:29

Eurovision

We have a couple of mates round for a buffet, drinks and watching the Daz Sampson represent us and hopefully win the Eurovision Song Contest.

As the evening wears on, and the drink flows, I am hoping that we all embrace the night and talk the Euro talk!!!!

I can’t wait as I know that Terry Wogan is going to provide the soundtrack to a hysterical evening of buffet eating, drinking and Euro speaking.

Big Brother

Well, I am at a loss to express my feelings on this one.

Like most of the country, I will become fixated by the morbid curiosity of it all and become addicted!!!!

There are certainly a few unique characters that have entered the house so far.

It will either be the best or the worst ever Big Brother I think.

I will, of course, have to watch it for a few more days just to make a fair assessment of it all!!!

Well, that’s all for this week.

It has been a busy one, and it’s going to be a busy weekend.

Have a good one and take care, no matter who you are with or what you are doing.

Oh I Don't Know....

by KACKERS @ Wednesday, 17. May, 2006 - 16:42:30

..what is up with me at the moment but I am right off the whole concept of working at the moment.

I am feeling a bit fed up and not really into working. I would so much rather stay at home and potter about in the garden with Scooter the cat giving me a helping hand!!!

Aside from that, my head is feeling a lot better.

The sun has gone and in it's place is rain. Ironic really that it should rain for so long that day after a hose pipe ban was announced in the local area.

If it rains hard enough, perhaps the ban will only be a temporary thing.

They talk of stand pipes, like back in the seventies. I sort of have a vague memory but nothing great. I will have to ask my mother I visited and used stand pipes as a small child!!!

I now have 2 tomato plants and 4 sunflower seeds to add to my garden. To be honest, I think that I may have got a bit carried away with it all, as I seem to have run out of border with plenty of plants to spare!!!

Oh, and how could I forget. It is the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday and I have a date with Terry Wogan to watch and listen. It is one of the funniest things on telly all year.

I can't wait to see Daz rock.

I just hope it is enough to win.

The shame of not winning would be just too much to bear.

I leave you with that thought in the vain hope that you will send good vibes to Dazza.

Head Hurts........

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 16. May, 2006 - 13:20:06

...I had a major migraine yesterday.

Today I feel like my head has been hit with a cricket bat, several times, in one place!

It has affected my ability to write anything worth while today.

I hope normal service will ressume tomorrow.

So The Weekend Is Almost Here…..

by KACKERS @ Friday, 12. May, 2006 - 09:44:23

It is going to be great as my special man has the whole weekend off!

We are going to a plant fare run by the local cat protection league. I have been preparing borders and stuff so I will take some photos after my weekends work! I am really looking forward to him watching West United play football whilst I potter in the garden.

He is not so into the gardening side, but I can’t get enough of sitting in the fresh air ridding the garden of weeds and making it look all nice and then filling it with flowers and watching it burst into a spread of colour over the next few months!

I sound like an old lady eh?

If the weather takes a turn for the worse, what with it being the weekend, then I have photos and bits ready to do some scrap booking! Oh yeah, I am a closet scrapbooker!!! How dodgy does that sound……? Ha ha ha!!!!!

The plans for Sunday are all left open as you never really know what the weather may do, and it’s quite nice to have the option to just wake up and play it all by ear.

Well, I do hope that you all enjoy your weekend. I hope that at least one thing a day will make you smile and feel glad to be alive.

To make you feel all cute inside, enjoy this photo of my mum’s dog, Monty, when he was just a few months old. He is a Miniature Schnauzer and is the mildest mannered and lovely tempered dog you could have!

Take care and enjoy the weekend, whatever you do.

How Blummin' Busy Am I???

by KACKERS @ Thursday, 11. May, 2006 - 12:02:52

Well, far too busy to blog at the moment!!!

It is manic at work so I barely have time to surf or catch up on things on the net!!!

I still have my plan to get the phone line fitted at home, but it may have to wait till the summer is over and money is sorted out a bit more!!! I am not in a hurry for it to be honest as we are always on the go during the summer and seem to rarely be in!

I am loving this lovely hot weather that we are having and ever hopeful that it may continue into the weekend.

I will update more tomorrow so to keep you on your toes…. Here is a photo of the silly black streak to make you smile!!!!

Time For The Weekend.....

by KACKERS @ Friday, 05. May, 2006 - 09:36:01

Well, it is has been a short week but I feel like I have been working for at least 30 days without a break!!!

It always seems to me to be so much harder working after a Bank Holiday. It must be to do with cramming 5 days work into 4. I feel totally shattered today and I have no idea why.

We have quite a busy weekend planned containing plans such as 60th birthday party and a VW show at Battlesbridge in Essex.

I am looking forward to catching up with some very special people at the show on Sunday.

I am hoping to get some time to chill and rest as I really feel like I need to catch up with myself, but I think that it could be very easy to do little or nothing if I am not careful!

Well, thats all really as I must now put all my afforts into sorting out what I am going to get for breakfast from the lovely food ladies across the way.

Have a good weekend, no matter what you do.

Take care and keep smiling.:p

I Am Giving It Up To Bowl......

by KACKERS @ Thursday, 04. May, 2006 - 13:52:29

......... Not!!!!

I was not as good as I had hoped, and nowhere near as bad as I feared.

I had a steady old time of things, got 2 strikes which shocked me silly, and spent the rest of my time wandering aimlessly with a pink ball in my hand asking anyone that would listen, if it felt really heavy to them.

I had lots of helpful advice from my co-workers on how to bowl, oh, and I wore the only jeans in the world that moved enough to reveal your whole bum area when in the correct bowling stance.

It was a brief encounter really as I was over 40 minutes late, which meant that I had missed most of the first game, and then the second game flew by.

Then we all went to get some food, but I had to leave early due to other plans that I had made and forgot about.

Sods law that for 5 months I have nothing to do really in the week, and the one night that I do make a date, I double it up and cock the whole night up.

The very best thing about last night was watching the Funky Pie man from work. I have never seen such a launatic launcher bowler in my whole life. The man needs some sort of calming pill to help him!!!

Oh yeah, and another bonus was my photo printer that I got from ebay. Printing your own photos is so the way forward when you are into scrapbooking.

Thats it today as too hot and bothered to write anymore. I need to use my energy to sip ice cream soda in an effort to keep myself cool.

Body Made For Bowling.....

by KACKERS @ Wednesday, 03. May, 2006 - 13:56:48

Tonight I am going bowling with the work crowd.

I am tall, thin and gangly and not really of the body type or shape that you associate with bowling.

I am going to have a few drinks so I have at least one thing to blame my poor performance on.

I have a feeling that it could be a real funny night for all the wrong reasons, but I will give it a shot!!!!

I have been known to get a strike before, but I was as shocked as the rest of the group with me when it happened!!!

Anyway, I am real busy so I will have to be short and to the point again today.

Tomorrow I will let you know how the bowling goes..... providing that I don't throw myself in the lanes in an effort to end the pain of it all!!!!

I am Back Again!

by KACKERS @ Tuesday, 02. May, 2006 - 13:10:29

Well, my special man and I have just been away for 4 days at Santa Pod Raceway having a great weekend watching some of out mates drag racing.

It was so good as the rain stayed away until Sunday night, so we had virtually non stop racing. I did not mind it raining on Sunday night though as by then we were all tucked up and snuggled in the van.

It was a weekend of mixed events as there were personal bests, broken cars but plenty of smiles all round.

Scooter (the cat) wanted to have the hump when we returned, but I am so pleased as instead, he was very happy to see us again. I got tons of hugs and purrs from him last night.

Whilst talking at the weekend, it seems that our boy could be Burmese or have quite abit of Burmese in him!!!

I was so very pleased to see him and am also very grateful to our lovely lodger who not only looked after him, but also texted me a photo over the weekend so that I knew he was ok!!

Will try to post a pic or two tomorrow, bit pushed today for time and that!!!!

Hope you all had a good time.... what did you get up too?
